These are more or less the questions I have been asking myself over the last couple of years; they sound pretty easy, but it's a trick. Making those judgement calls can be surprisingly difficult, and there isn't necessarily a right answer. Sometimes you're going to allow an item's sentimental value to influence the choice and sometimes you will need to be ruthless. I think if you're asking these questions at all then you're going to find that the clutter, the conflict and the stresses in your life reduce — even if you don't master them very quickly.
