EVE just celebrated it's 10th birthday, which is a fairly impressive achievement given the number of such online games that have come and gone in that time. I've been playing a little again recently, and was considering how the game has changed in that time. I found a couple of screenshots for comparison - and managed to dig up the original version of my character portrait (and the new one above is for comparison).
This is a game criticised by potential publishers prior to it's launch who would not believe that the game demonstrations were live. The graphics were then considered to be exceptional and CCP has kept reinventing and reworking it's enine over the years to keep up with new technology and it shows.
