Upon the Altar of the Internet

This excellent article by James Shelley has been sat in my Instapaper queue for a little over a month.

With the possible exception of ham radio enthusiasts and Bulletin Board System users (who were arguably precursive practitioners of the present data age), I cannot think of another communication technology that has conceived so many pundits and prophets of itself. The Internet hosts a self-perpetuating chorus of commentary about the Internet. (You know, sites like this blog, for instance.)

I certainly fall into the scope of his critique here, and do try to be mindful about the inception-like layers of commentary and analysis that are easily espoused when one tends to obsess about technology.

If you find two errors on a page there will be more.
